Crochet a cute heart motif Hot Water Bottle Cover to snuggle up with!
This pattern uses the Granny Stripe stitch to create a gradient effect design, but you can use any colour combination you like.
This Hot Water Bottle Cover is designed to fit most standard 2Litre size rubber bottles. The finished flat measurements are approximately 23cm (9”) in width, 28cm (11”) in length excluding neck, and 35cm (13.75”) base to top of bottle neck.
The measurements of the actual hot water bottle will be a little smaller than the cover. This allows for seaming and room for filling the bottle. I purchased my hot water bottle from Asda.
Using Wool or Acrylic yarn will allow for more stretch if needed.
You will need:
Aran/Worsted weight cotton yarn in 4 colours - A main background colour and 3 other colours.
MC = Main Colour (Background colour) - Approx. 190yds (3x50g)
CA = Colour A (The lightest shade) - Approx. 20yds (1x 50g ball),
CB = Colour B (The middle shade) - Approx. 29yds (1x 50g ball),
CC = Colour C (The darkest shade - Heather) - Approx. 22yds (1x 50g ball).
I have used Drops Paris Cotton yarn.
You will also need a 5mm hook (or size needed for gauge), a Hot Water Bottle (a similar size to the dimensions above), 2 stitch markers, yarn needle and scissors.
