Skill Level: Easy

A great motif that can be used for a variety of reasons. Gift it as a wash or cleaning cloth, or stitch it to a shirt as a beautiful appliqué. The Granny Octagon is great in any worsted year and uses less than 1 skein to complete. (I used stash yarn.) Basic granny square construction principles make this a quick project, even for beginners.

The pattern includes a complete stitch diagram and written instructions. I used one special stitch, for which there are step-by-step instructions, or if you don’t want to use the special stitch you can follow the alternate directions if you wish.
