Granny Pumpkin
These pumpkins would make wonderful gifts, party favours or table decorations.
They work beautifully for a mobile, garland (vertical or horizontal) or bag charm.
Using very little yarn, they’re also fabulous stash busters and give you great opportunities for playing with colour.
Finish one in an evening, they’re a quick project that take just a few hours each.
You’ll be crocheting the squares together so no sewing is required except for an easy gathering stitch to shape the pumpkin.
There are very few ends to weave in - if you choose, you don’t have to weave in any ends! Just knot and hide them inside your pumpkin- something that you can only do with amigurumi style crochet (and something I usually don’t recommend)
Experiment with various yarns and appropriate hook sizes for different sized pumpkins.
Yarn Used for samples
Samples made in fingering, sport & DK weight yarn, but pumpkins can be made in most yarn weights with appropriate hook size.
