You can use any yarn and hook you would like, below is what I used for my blanket.
For my blanket I used Hayfield Bonus DK with a 4mm Hook in the following shades: Ladybird, Burnt Orange, Cornfield, Turquoise, Neon Blue & Electric Pink
I used approximately 2,300 - 2,500 meters of DK weight yarn for the entire project
My blanket measures approximately 39 inches (99cm) wide by 48 inches (125cm) long
