Granny Slouch
This hat combines the fluidity of crochet and the fit of knitting.
The best part of this project is that there is no gauge. The size of the hat is totally determined by the size of the granny square.
The skills used in both the crochet and knitting sections are beginner level. This pattern is written in one size, but you can easily increase the size by making the granny square top larger or smaller. It’s all up to you.
Yardage needed depends of the gauge of yarn you are using.
Fingering weight: 300 yards
Sport weight: 250 yards
DK weight: 200 yards
Worsted weight: 200 yards
Chunky weight: 150 yards
Hook and needle size depend totally on which yarn you choose. Here are my suggestions:
Fingering weight: 2.5mm
Sport weight: 3.25mm
DK weight: 4mm
Worsted weight: 4.5mm
Chunky weight: 6mm
