Granny Square and Panel Throw
by Ann Brown
This throw uses granny squares with bands of crochet to create a lovely design that looks much more complicated than it is. Change the colours for a completely different effect. Rusts, oranges and reds would create an ‘Autumn’ style throw and pale pinks, creams and blues would make a beautiful baby blanket.
Materials
You will need a selection of double knit wools. I used 5 different colours, a mixture of Sirdar and Bergere de France and a 3.25mm crochet hook. You can if you wish use a heavier weight wool and a larger hook, then your throw will grow more quickly and make it easier to create a larger throw.
