This pattern has instructions for two sizes of balaclava, child and adult, they are made in the same way, but with a different size of hook for the granny squares.

The pattern has us make 16 small granny squares. Those join together to make the ‘hood/hat’ part, then we make the neck stretchy ribbed section and another ribbed section for around the face, these are then attached to the granny square section.

I advise using three different colours, but obviously you can decide what you prefer. The yarn thickness is DK / Light Worsted and we use a single thread of yarn.

Hooks needed are 3mm (child size) 4mm (adult) and 6mm for the ribbed sections.

Advised for intermediate crocheters as it’s a pretty long project compared to my other designs. The pattern comes with video tutorials and online support so beginners that can commit the time to get finished will be fine too : ).
