Granny Square Cluster Cushion
This pattern includes three alternate versions for a cushion panel designed around four granny squares with a linen stitch (moss stitch) background. The panels are designed to be stitched onto an existing cushion cover so that the colour of the fabric shows through the crochet stitches.
-
The granny squares include cluster stitches and rounds are worked in different shades of yarn.
-
It is an intermediate design as you need to count carefully to add the required number of stitches for the linen stitch areas around the granny squares.
-
I have used Di Gilpin’s Lalland yarn as its unusual twist gives the linen stitch a beautiful finish and as it is lambswool, will also wear well in use. You will need about 20m in three colours and the main colour for the granny squares and one ball of the main colour for each panel. Feel free to substitute another DK yarn.
-
I prefer to add panels to a ready made cushion but you can choose to crochet a back panel to create a case if you prefer.
