Many vintage patterns utilitze a technique modern crocheters call the “Granny Square”. Since the resurgence of crochet in the 1930’s, and again in the 1970s, this pattern has been a favorite for making colorful afghans out of yarn scraps. This pattern includes general instructions for the Granny Square, and for the Granny Square Infinity Scarf.

Gauge: 5 bundles x 10 rows = 4” x 4”

You Will Need:
Skills
- Chain (ch), Slip Stich (sl st), Single Crochet (sc), Half Double Crochet (hdc), Double Crochet (dc)
- Traditional Granny Square (explained in detail below), Flat Slip Stitch Join (explained in detail below)
Tools
- Crochet Hook G-6/4.0mm or size needed to obtain gauge.
- Basic Yarn Sewing Kit: small scissors, tape measure, yarn needle, removable stitch markers

- 440yds/200g of Light/Medium Weight Yarn. 220yds each Yarns A & B
- Sample shown in Cascade 220 Superwash. Light/Medium Weight (3)/(4). 100% Superwash Wool. 100g/220yds per skein.
