Abbreviations (US terms):
CH = chain stitch
Sst = slip stitch
SC = single crochet, worked in back loop only in the previous round
HDC = half double crochet
DC = double crochet, worked in front loop only, into the corresponding stitch, 2 rounds below.
Materials ( approximately):
●Color A ( background color): approx. 8 gr per square and 840gr/ 2300 meters for 104 squares
●Color B ( pattern color): approx. 11 gr. per square and 1200 gr/ 3200 meters for 104 squares
●Border: approx. 200m
●4 mm crochet hook for the squares
●3,5 mm crochet hook for the border
●Scissors
●Sewing needle( for hiding the ends)
Gauge:
Gauge is crucial for this pattern, and by changing the weight of the yarn and the crochet hook , you will have a bigger or smaller square and this will result in a larger or smaller blanket. In this case, make less squares, or more squares . Remember, different yarns give different gauges and personal tension will make the difference as well.
●The size varies by the number of squares you make, the yarn you use and your gauge – so you can really just make any size afghan you want! For my blanket, I made 104 squares and it is approximately 140 cm wide and 230 cm long, including the border. Each square is about 17 x 17 cm large( 7inch × 7 inch).
●The squares are worked in the round and then crocheted together with slip stitches. The border is also worked in the round.
