There’s nothing so cosy as a Granny Stripe blanket! This pattern features a full step-by-step photo-tutorial, ideal for beginners, as well as the written instructions in full at the end. Designed to be viewed on mobile, all the written instructions are in the left-hand margin, meaning you can follow the pattern simply by scrolling down, only scrolling across to check the photos.

There are two versions: Hundred Ends which features one main colour (e.g. Cream) and 8 additional colours, as the name suggests, you have to sew in all the ends, if the thought of sewing in so many ends scares you, you might want to try Don’t Panic! Carry your Yarn, which uses either 7 or 9 colours and allows you to carry your yarn up the sides, covering it with the border.

Talking of which, Granny’s Stripey Linen border is a totally original 5 round design which complements the blanket perfectly.

Notions:
4mm crochet hook (size smaller and larger are optional)
Yarn: Stylecraft special DK 400g
Hundred Ends - 200g of main colour, plus 25g each of another 8 colours
Don’t Panic! Carry your Yarn - 50g each of 9 colours / 60g each of 7 colours

Gauge: 6 clusters of 3 tr and 12/13 rows in 10 cm (gauge isn’t critical for this project)

Finished blanket measures approx. 73cm x 93cm
