Granny Wainwright's Easter Eggs
Granny Wainwright’s Easter Eggs are inspired by the decorative cardboard Easter eggs of my childhood, which always contained wonderful treats. They always had such pretty illustrations of bunnies and flowers and it was a joy to recreate them in crochet.
There are two sizes, small (9cm tall) and large (11cm tall). The pattern includes full instructions for the bunny and daffodil motifs, but the white centre panel is a blank canvas for you to add your own Easter embroidery too!
The hanging loop is created as part of the joining process.
They use small amounts of yarn, less than 10g each, and work best in a cotton blend yarn.
You’ll also need some toy stuffing or other material for filling.
The download includes both UK and US terms versions of the pattern. There are supporting photos as well as written instructions and you’ll also find my unique stitch checklists for the egg rounds to help you keep track.
Granny Wainwright’s Easter Eggs make a lovely addition to your Easter tree, or even a little Easter gift (the originals were an Easter gift to my brothers and me, though my mum will neither confirm nor deny that they were from our very own Granny Wainwright rather than the Easter Bunny!)
How will you decorate yours?
Gauge is measured over a section of one egg and is just a guide.
