Grapevine Summer Poncho
The Grapevine Summer Poncho is a fun pattern to make a cover for cool summer evenings. It’s versatile in how it’s worn - with buttons in front, buttons along shoulder seam, or unbuttoned as a wrap.
It’s also versatile in regards to yarn used. I recommend a DK cotton blend with variation in yarn width and slubs for additional interest in the finished product. Color variegated yarn can also be used for interesting effects. I used Berroco Quinoa; other yarn options are: Berroco Meraki, Berroco Summer Sesame, Berroco Isola, Rico Design Lazy Hazy Summer Cotton DK, Ella Rae Impressionist, or Purlsoho Lantern. As one-size, the pattern is forgiving if gauge is not exact.
About 1,100 yards of yarn, US 7 knitting needles, size G-6 crochet hook, sewing needle and 9 1/2” buttons is needed to create the Grapevine Summer Poncho.
