This versatile piece can be worn as a cowl, or pulled down over the shoulders as a mini-poncho. You start with two-sided knitting at the neck edge, then continue in the round.

Alternating linen stitch and eyelet sections creates a graphic look that is fun with a wildly variegated yarn or a tonal or solid.

The black-white-yellow version uses two skeins of Frabjous Fiber’s March Hare. This is a fat worsted, so when substituting yarns make sure to get gauge. The solid green version uses two skeins of Juniper Moon Farm’s Moonshine, and includes an additional repeat of the linen stitch & eyelet patterns.

Worn over the shoulders instead of as a cowl, this will fit most small to medium women. The easiest way to make it larger around the shoulders is to go up one needle size. To make it longer, continue in the pattern until it’s at the desired length; this requires additional yarn.

Keeping the bind-off at the lower edge stretchy is critical for this to fit properly! Using Jeny’s Surprisingly Stretchy Bindoff is recommended.
