Grasshopper
This 26 by 30 inch baby blanket is a delight to make because the design is quick-to-learn and easily completed without directions (once the patterns have been established). It can be enlarged with minimal effort and replicated in thicker yarn for an adult-sized lapwarmer or blanket. Choose a favorite crayon color for a delightful baby blanket that will become a cherished heirloom. (Washable/dryable yarn creates perfection!)
This blanket took slightly more than 2 skeins of Loops and Threads Impeccable (or, under 600 yards, worsted weight). Knit in one piece, it is easily adjustable for sizing; and there is no blocking needed, just a light shake when completed.
Gauge is not critical at 4 stitches per inch over stockinette stitch. The cables draw in the design slightly for a completed 26x30 inch blanket. (Two skeins would complete a square Grasshopper.)
