In June 2021, fully vaccinated against COVID, I embarked on a trip to Iceland. Less than a week later, I found myself isolated for two weeks with COVID in Reykjavik, in the care of the Icelandic Red Cross. I had some yarn left over from knitting Renee Leverington’s delightful Brigid Socks earlier in the trip, so while in isolation I decided to create a pair of gloves to match.

The entire glove is knitted in the round with worsted weight yarn of your choice.

I’ve included plenty of options along the way including:
Choose your cuff length
Create more or less ease / tapering in palm and fingers
Peekaboo finger ends as pictured (for cellphone use) or closed fingers
Continue the ribbing up the fingers or work fingers in a stockinette
Fingerless mitts
I’ve also linked to video tutorials wherever it might be helpful.

Sizing: 7-7.5” circumference Woman’s small / Child’s Large
(8-8.5”) circumference Woman’s large / Man’s small
The ribbed pattern provides elasticity. I like my gloves with negative ease and have designed these to be snug. While I have provided instructions for two sizes, you may also choose to make these smaller or larger by adjusting gauge.
