This shawl is an absolute pleasure to wear and from what I can tell it looks great on everyone. The little textural waves let yarns catch the light and gives it a lot of depth. The simple no-lace/lace-style repeat is easy to memorize but keeps the knitting interesting.
I guess I’m going a bit soft these days. Knitting is like therapy for me, and I’ve noticed that I’ve started to blend some of my favourite therapy-like practices in with my pattern writing.
Knitting is such a calming experience. It combines so many calming things, repetition, texture, intention, and it gives you something awesome to do with your hands. This shawl was designed with all that in mind. I needed something warm and soothing and comforting to knit and to wear as the fall approached. Knitting has always been a way to reclaim and celebrate the weather changes for me and I am so grateful for it and all the little moments I get to spend knitting. I hope this project helps you in a similar way, in whatever way you need it.
As with all of my for-pay patterns, if you find yourself short on funds please just send me a message on ravelry and I will gift the pattern to you! No worries at all.
I’m a big instagram nerd, pop over there and say hi! @softsweater if you’re instagramming about this shawl you can use the hashtag #gratefulmomentsshawl
A note on the images: I shot these photos while the light was changing, so any changes to the shawl colour are purely from picking up the warmth of the sunset or the cool tone of the overcast clouds. It’s the same shawl for all the photos.
I’m also majorly in love with the yarn that I used for this pattern. Please head over and check out The Plucky Knitter yarns!
Thanks to all my test knitters and my lovely model Nicola Hodges of Tiny Island Textiles who is woolcamera here on ravelry!
