Grating stitch is knitted in multiples of 8 stitches, with 8 rows completing the pattern which results in a subtle, rather pleasing chained diamond effect.
Add an additional repeat of the pattern to make a washcloth.
Although not truly reversible, the back has a slightly indented pattern of diamonds.
