Gratitude

Having made big changes in her life, a dear friend describes herself as “living in a state of gratitude”. When I first heard her say that, I thought about my own state of being and I absolutely share that sentiment. Since venturing out an Indie pattern designer and instructor, my circle of friends is ever widening, for which I am truly grateful. I’m grateful for the many opportunities that have come my way. I’m grateful for the many friends I have made in this fiber community and beyond, and the joy I get to experience with them in this wonderful world.

I have designed and knit a gratitude hug for all of you. It’s my birthday present to you! It’s a shoulder caplet, cowl, kind of piece, that slips over your head to make you cozy and warm.

The sample in these photos was knit with Danube Bulky from Crystal Palace Yarns, which knits up quickly with size 10 ½ needles. The approximate dimensions are: 56” in circumference at the bottom, 40” in circumference at the top and 13” in length. Gauge is 3 sts./in.
