Gratitude is a part of my collection, Animism. Together with Fault and Echo, the patterns are inspired by the natural world around me.

Gratitude is a big lace pi shawl worked from the centre out, beginning with short, quick rounds, and ending with long, hypnotic rounds.

Finished measurements: 45” 114cm diameter unblocked; 63” 160cm diameter blocked

Yarn: I used Brooklyn Tweed Shelter 11 skeins, which creates an amazingly lightweight, lofty, yet still cozy fabric. Other great options are Cascade 220, Drops Karisma, Malabrigo Worsted, or any other worsted weight yarn.

Needles: You’ll be starting quite small, and ending quite large, so you will need appropriate length US 7 4.5mm needles.

Gauge: 20 sts x 32 rows = 4” in stockinette blocked. Gauge isn’t hugely important, as this is not fitted, but keep in mind that if you are getting more stitches per inch, your shawl will end up smaller with a tighter fabric. If you have fewer stitches per inch, it will end up larger and have a more open fabric. As well, if your gauge is different, the amount of yarn you use will differ from the listed amount.

Notes: The pattern is both written and charted.
