Ich hatte diesen schönen einzelnen Strang bunt gefärbte Wolle mit Namen „Star Trek“, aber irgendwie passte der nie zu etwas dazu. So kam ich auf die Idee, genau für diese wunderschönen, aber meist einsamen Einzelstränge aus unserem Wollvorrat ein kleines Tuch zu designen. Das 3D Wellenmuster passt zu fast allen Färbungen, auch ganz bunten. Obwohl es ein kleines, schmales Tuch ist, ist die Größe doch ausreichend für einen Erwachsenen. Finden sich noch mehr bunte Schönheiten, dann kann das Tuch auch problemlos vergrößert werden.
Mein Mann – immer im Herzen ein Physiker geblieben – und wie ich ein großer Fan sowohl von „Star Trek“ als auch „Star Wars“, sah in dem Tüchlein den Weltraum, unendliche Weiten und um in Galaxien vorzudringen, die nie ein Mensch gesehen hat, hat er es „Gravitationswellen“ genannt .

Verwendete Wolle: Fine Merino Socks 4Fach (75% Wolle/25% Polyamid; LL 420m/ 100g); Ns 3,25; Größe: 30 x 140 cm

I had this one colorful beautifully dyed skein called „Star Trek“, but it didn´t match any other skein I had. Therefore I decided to design a small shawl just for all those lovely, but lonely one skeins in our stashes, which we loved so much to buy them, but which simply haven´t found their destiny yet. The 3D wave pattern really is suitable for nearly all of them. It´s designed as a small shawl, but perfectly big enough to be worn by an adult. And of course if you have more of those woolen beauties, can knit it a bit bigger without any problems as the pattern is repeating.
My husband, always a physicist in his heart and as myself a big fan of both „Star Trek“ and „Star Wars“, he saw the space in it, the final frontier and to boldly go where no one else has gone, decided to name the pattern „Gravitational Waves“.

Suggested Yarn type: One skein fine merino sock yarn; Yardage: 459yd / 100g; Needle size US 3;
circular needles 24“ to 32“; but you can use nearly any yarn not too thin. Just give it a try and have fun!
