Pattern for a grayscale mountains blanket / tapestry. This pattern comes with both a graph and written directions. Would also look great in different color combos!

All single stitch crochet using the tapestry crochet technique (carrying yarn)

You will need 1-2 skeins of Black (A), 2 skeins of dark gray (B), 2 skeins of gray (C), 2 skeins of light gray (D) & 3 skeins of white (E) to complete this pattern. This is assuming a medium weight yarn with a skein length of about 350 yards/skein.

I recommend carrying A + B (black and dark gray) only in the beginning. When you need gray (C) then start carrying that one as well and when you’ve finished the tallest peak of the mountain that is color A (black) stop carrying that color. Continue this with light gray (D) & white (E). When you are done with the mountains and you only have the sky I would continue carrying D (light gray) to keep the thickness and everything consistent. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to reach out

I recommend a medium weight (worsted weight) yarn with a J sized hook. The tapestry should come out a little over 4 feet wide (when crocheted with a J hook and medium weight yarn) A border can increase the size and give the project a more finished look.

It is all single stitch crochet. In order to make this blanket you will need to know how to carry yarn (there are great Youtube videos that can teach you how to do the Tapestry Crochet Technique. I highly recommend trying a small simple pattern to practice carrying yarn before attempting a larger project. Carrying yarn gets more difficult as you add more colors.

150 stiches wide by 163 rows tall

Once you have purchased this pattern a text document that like this (below) will automatically download to you. If you have any trouble receiving it message me and I will have it e-mailed to you in no time. This pattern also comes with a Graph!

1.) A-150
2.) A-30, B-20, A-10, B-50
3….

The #’s are for each row
The letters are for different colors. (A = Black, B = Dark Gray, C = Gray, D = Light Gray & E = White)

(so the above pattern would have the first row be 150 stitches of color A. 2nd row would have 30 stitches of color A followed by 20 stitches of color B followed by 10 stitches of color A and so on….)
