We took a trip to Great Basin National Park last month and I was so inspired by it’s beauty that I knew I had to make it this month’s hat and color. Inspired by the Bristlecone Pine trees, some over 5,000 years old (yes, thousands!) and the tallest mountain in the state, Wheeler Peak, this park is not short on inspiration. It’s one of the most remote parks to visit which means it isn’t as crowded as the other parks, which is a win in my book.

This color features soft tans and browns with plenty of sagebrush green and speckles of fawn brown. I think it variegates beautifully! The design is a hat with either a beanie or slouchy option (shown here) with a pretty lace design that mimics the mountain range.

The park is also famous for the Lehman Cave which we can’t wait to go back and tour on our next trip (I love a good cave tour!) and the night sky is absolutely incredible! This is a park you definitely shouldn’t miss!

-1 Skein of Kristen in Stitches American Worsted in “Bristlecone Pine” or approx. 200yards of worsted weight yarn.
-US Size 6 & 7 - 16” circular needles
-US Size 7 DPNs
-Stitch markers
-Darning needle for weaving in ends
