Green Ginger Crocheted Shopping Bag
I made this bag to use up a stash of heavy, tough, bulky hand spun yarn, dyed with apple bark. From this unpromising beginning, I have ended up with a really useful thing - a strong bag that is flat and quite neat under the arm when empty, but stretches really big when full of shopping and it can take the weight.
Two rectangular panels of crochet in a simple three colour tweed are drawn in by sides of shorter rows to give a rounded shape. The strength comes from them being encircled with thick crochet cord handles. Outside pockets are easy to get at.
