This bag is made from 2 strands of 2 ply carpet wool. You can supplement hand spun or strong wool. The nature of Tapestry crochet is you carry the other colour along with you in the bag in the body of the bag and bring the that colour to the surface when needed. This makes a very strong sturdy bag that hold it shape with use.
