Greenhouse Effect
NOTE: This headpiece is worked in the round, inside out (less purl stitches that way), so when you are done, you will have to flip it rightside out—no biggie, just don’t freak out if you don’t see those mock cables as you’re knitting—they’re on the inside!
Why Greenhouse Effect?
The weather has been super weird in NYC lately—I’ve lived here all my life and have grown accustomed to 4 regular seasons, but lately we only experience two: Summer and Winter. And sometimes, Summer is Winter and vice versa. For instance, it snowed earlier this week and tomorrow, it’s supposed to be in the mid-70s.
With that in mind, I decided I needed something that would keep my ears warm without overheating my head. When I put a hat on in this wonky weather, it tends to generate a lot of heat… which gets trapped in my hat… creating my own, personal ‘greenhouse effect.’
This little headwarmer utilizes a basic slipped stitch mock cable and should knit up very quickly—mine took only a few hours!
