Greenpoint Hat
by Mat Kladney
This pattern is a straightforward cable knit that uses single cables creating snaking columns that run the length of the hat. If you haven’t yet learned how to cable without a cabling needle THIS IS THE TIME.
The Greenpoint Hat really flies when you’re not using a cabling needle. There are MANY tutorials on how to do this online - just search “cabling without a cable needle” on youtube or google or ask down at your LYS. This is an important skill and is completely worth picking up.
You’ll want around 200 yards of a worsted weight yarn. I’m a pretty loose knitter, so keep an eye on your gauge before embarking on this pattern, most people use a US7 (4.5mm) to match the pattern.
