This is a mystery pattern from The Mitten Guild (Vottelauget).

There are 8 clues. We start on Sunday November 28th, and then you get a new clue every three days until December 19th, which gives you a few days to finish before Christmas.

Yarn
You need fingering to sport weight wool yarn in two contrasting colours.
Parts of the mittens are worked using both strands of yarn, so don’t choose a very «stiff» yarn.
You need appr. 100 m of each colour.

Gauge
28 sts and 29 rounds to 10 by 10 cm in stranded colourwork.
Use needles that give the right gauge, for most knitters 3 or 3.5 mm will work.

Size and measurements
With the given gauge, you get a medium woman size.
