Grey Gardens
This crescent shaped shawl is a quick easy knit. Alternating sections of stockinette and garter stitch serve to really show off that special skein of fingering weight yarn you’ve been saving. A dropped stitch border further showcases the yarn and creates a lightness that’ll have you wearing this shawl all year round.
Yarn: Approx 400 yards of fingering weight yarn. Sample shown in gnarledpaw yarns Yak Yak, 70% superwash merino, 20% Yak, 10% nylon. Colorway - Urban Stripes.
SIze: One size
Dimensions (AFTER BLOCKING): 70 inch wingspan and 14 inch depth.
Needles: US size 6. (This shawl is easily adaptable for any weight of yarn and any size needle, just use a needle larger than called for to achieve a similar drape).
Notions: Stitch markers, tapestry needle.
Gauge: 20 stitches by 28 rows 4 inches in stockinette on US size 6 needles.
