I use Stylecraft Special DK Acrylic because it is colourful, safe, affordable and easy to look after. Most DK yarns will work, though.

Purse clasps are easily available to purchase online.

This project also requires a pair of 10mm safety eyes and some thinner thread to sew the shark to the clasp.

It is an easy project with some tricky bits made mostly in double crochet but you will need to know how to make a double treble and how to work in both the front and the back loops.

Some parts look better if stuffed slightly with toy filler but this is optional.
