NOTE: The smaller knitting needles and/or crochet hook are OPTIONAL and only required to add an optional decorative edge. The edge can be knitted OR crocheted so only one or the other will be needed if making an edging. There is no edging on the blanket in the photos, it is not required.

This blanket is made using a mosaic stitch. There are no colour changes within the working rows, the colour pattern is made by slipping the stitches of one colour, while knitting the stitches of the other.

All stitches are slipped purl wise, with the yarn held on the wrong side while slipping. For right side rows, the yarn is held in back as stitches are slipped, for wrong side rows, the yarn is held in front.

The pattern has a 3D effect, almost like the rows of colours have been woven through the white.

The yarn was carried up the side of the blanket for colour changes (shown in photo #9).

Yarn quantities (approximate):
Col A 340 yds
Col B 280 yds
Col C 220 yds

The example has no decorative edging, however 3 edging options have been included with the pattern.
