Nestled in the heart of Bergslagen, between the mountains and the lake, lies the little hamlet of Grindtorp.
Here, in our cozy cottage, we cherish slow summer days filled with ease and wander through the autumn forests,
foraging for mushrooms and gathering firewood to prepare for the winter ahead.
Inspired by the rich heritage of Bergslagen and the hardworking lives of those who shaped this land,
I envisioned a mitten that reflects its rugged charm. A mitten crafted from durable, rustic Swedish wool.
My goal was to design something practical and accessible, a mitten that doesn’t require constant glances at the knitting chart, allowing your hands to move instinctively while your thoughts drift freely.
And so, the Grindtorp Mitten was born, a humble, everyday mitten, rooted in the soul of Bergslagen,
lovingly made to be worn and enjoyed.

The Grindtorp Mitten comes in three versatile sizes:
Small: Perfect for women with petite hands or pre-teens.
Medium: Designed to fit most women comfortably.
Large: Tailored for most men.
If you (or the person you are knitting for) have a bit smaller or larger hands, you may adjust the size by knitting at a slightly tighter or looser gauge.

Small (women’s/pre-teen size): Circumference about 21 cm. Length from thumb gusset to the top about 13 cm.
Whole length about 26 cm.
Medium (women’s size): Circumference about 22,5 cm. Length from thumb gusset to the top about 14 cm.
Whole length about 27 cm.
Large (men’s size): circumference about 24,5 cm. Length from thumb gusset to the top about 16 cm.
Whole length about 30 cm

I byn Grindtorp, i hjärtat av bergslagen, precis mellan bergen och sjön ligger vår lilla stuga.
Här tillbringar vi lata sommardagar och på hösten plockar vi svamp och hugger ved inför vintern.
Jag ville sticka en vante i rustikt svenskt garn, inspirerad av Bergslagen och de som bott och verkat här,
en tålig vante som skulle passa lika bra i vid lägerelden i skogen som i stan.
Vanten skulle ha ett mönster som var lätt att memorera, utan att behöva titta i diagrammet hela tiden,
så att händerna kan arbeta och tankarna få flyga fritt.
Det blev vanten Grindtorp, en vardagsvante med rötterna i Bergslagen,
en vante stickad med omtanke, gjord för att användas!

Vanten Grindtorp kan stickas i tre olika storlekar:
Storlek small passar kvinnor med lite mindre händer, eller stora barn på väg in i tonåren.
Storlek medium passar de flesta kvinnor.
Storlek large är täkt att passa de flesta män.
Du kan även justera storlekarna något genom att gå upp eller ned i stickstorlek.

Small (dam/stort barn/tonåring): Omkrets 21 cm. Längd från tumvecket till toppen 13 cm.
Hel längd ca 26 cm.
Medium (dam): Omkrets 22,5 cm. Längd från tumvecket till toppen 14 cm.
Hel längd ca 27 cm.
Large (herr): Omkrets 24 cm. Längd från tumvecket till toppen 16 cm.
