Here’s a very easy pattern for a reusable eco friendly crocheted grocery bag! :)
Tired of waisting all that plastic and polluting the earth? Crochet a very convenient market tote bag which you can easily carry around in your own bag, so you don’t have to buy plastic bags at the grocery store anymore!
You can fit a LOT of groceries in this bag! The way it’s made makes it very flexible and elastic, but still very, very sustainable.
The size of the finished bag is:
Width: 30 centimeters / 12 inch
Length: 35 centimeters / 14 inch
Lenght: of the handles of the bag: 45 centimeters / 18 inch.
Needed materials to make this item:
- crochet hook, 2.5mm / size C (11)
- yarn type: sock yarn
- yarn colours: multi-coloured yarn for the bag itself (about 220m/240yd), black yarn for the handles (about 180m/200yd)
- tapestry/sewing needle
Needed skills to make this item:
- magic ring
- chain stitches
- slip stitches
- single crochet
- double crochet
- increasing and decreasing
Overall skill level: advanced beginner.
Size of finished item:
When made with the described yarn and hook size, the
bag will become 35cm/14” in height (excluding the
handles) and 30cm/12” in width.
