Grotine Shawl
The Grotine Crochet Shawl is a bias, asymmetrical triangle shawl, adapted for crochet from the knit version by Caroline Dick. It is a long, narrow shawl, that is perfect for showing off variegated and tonal yarns.
This pattern includes a few variations. The basic Grotine, with an option for making it a bit wider, as well as the narrow Grotine, which uses less than one skein of sock weight yarn. Grotine is a flexible shawl, and can be made with heavier yarns, up to a worsted weight or so. Linen stitch will loosen up quite a bit with blocking. Gauge and hook size are suggestions based on an average sock yarn.
All proceeds from the crochet Grotine will go to Native American Rights Fund, a non-profit law firm working for the rights of Native tribes and individuals across the US.
