Grouchy Geisha
Elegant and striking in it’s simple geometry, this pattern was inspired by Japanese motifs.
This is a top down shawl with a fairly simple geometric lace design. The pattern begins with simple written instructions for the top trellis portion, then charts are provided for the geometric lace.
This design uses one skein of Cephalopod Yarns Skinny Bugga and measures approximately 63” x 33” (dimensions will vary depending on your gauge)….
ERRATA :
Chart 1 : Row 31 : the repeat should read : k4, yo, ssk, k1, k2tog, yo, k5. Correction made July 1, 2012.
Chart 2, Row 21 : The k5tog that appears on the row 21 is not a true decrease as you will be knitting 5 stitches together, but then adding them back before you transfer stitches to the right needle. So k5tog = knit 5 stitches together through the back loop, leaving sts on left needle ; then (yo, k5tog) twice, drop stitches from left needle.
