Grow With You Headband
This is the sister pattern to my ‘any-size mug cozy’ which is essentially the exact same pattern only crocheted. Incredibly simple to do, it can be made for absolutely any size head by adjusting the number of rows in the body before starting on the tab. You can also use any yarn, a fingering-sport weight gives you a 2 1/2in wide headband at 18 sts. As long as the co is divisible by 3 you’re good.
I chose to make the knit and crocheted versions separate patterns because they are for essentially different uses, the crochet version is sturdy with a reliable memory, and I recommend yarns with a lot of friction (such as shetland or Icelandic based wool yarns) this is the absolute perfect combination for a good, heat-resistant cozy that won’t fall off. For this sister pattern, I recommend soft yarns with a lot of give, fine wools such as merino will suit this best. The knit version is not meant to be used as a cup cozy for the simple fact that it was meant to have a whole lot of stretch for tiny heads that grow quickly :).
This is my second (the mug cozy being my first) published pattern, and neither of these have been test knit, so tread with care :).
