(Grown up) Silver Birch is the adult sized version of my Silver Birch cardigan. Perfect for keeping warm on chilly days, this classic hooded cardigan is worked seamlessly from the bottom up with a bold cable design on the fronts, back and sleeves. The adult version features set in sleeves and gentle waist shaping for a flattering fit. Both charted and written instructions are provided for the cable pattern.

It is intended to be worn with approx. 1-3 inches / 2.5-7.5 cm positive ease. Choose a size that is 1-3 inches / 2.5-7.5 cm larger than your actual bust measurement. Shown in size S with 1 inch / 2.5 cm positive ease.

Construction:
The body is worked flat from the bottom up in one piece to the underarms, where it is split into front and back pieces. These are worked flat to the shoulders with armhole and neck shaping. The shoulders are shaped with short rows and then joined using a three needle cast off. Stitches are picked up from the armholes, the sleeve caps are shaped with short rows and then the sleeves are worked down in the round. Finally, stitches are picked up to work the hood and then the button band.
