Grumpybum Monster Longies
I fell in love with monster longies after having seen lots of pics on the net. So, I googled a pattern, but when I started to knit them I soon realised that the pattern I had found did not make the monster longies I wanted. So, after googling and googling to no avail I sat down and came up with my own pattern based on lots of pictures.
I don’t think it is that different from other patterns out there, but it has all the elements which I like, such as straight legs, increases in the crotch for a better fit, extra long ribbing on the bottom of the legs (“,).
This pattern is in to sizes, 6 months-2 years (2-4 years). As the longies are very stretchy sideways, and the little ones doesn’t really expand so much in that direction, it pretty much comes down to the knitting the legs longer to make a bigger size.
This is a fun and fast knit, and makes great gifts.
You can find a pattern for the eyes and teeth here, these are made using duplicate stitches after the longies are all done.
English version here.
A very good tutorial for knitting short-rows with no holes can be found here :-).
