Rescued from the Harkonnen slave pits by Leto, Guerney Halleck became war master for House Atreides. He was known for both his fierceness in battle and his talent playing the baliset. Duncan Idaho once said of him “He could be killing you while he was singing and never miss a note.“- Herbert, Dune 1964. I liked the idea of his 2 different sides working together in harmony, so his socks are meant to resemble a padded military combat uniform on one side and the strings of a baliset on the other. Guerney had the ability to adapt and blend in anywhere among anyone, so these socks are interesting enough to be worked in a solid color, but will enhance and not over shadow a striped or patterned yarn. Socks are worked top down with a short row garter heel and toe. They are comfortable and squishy and an easy knit using only knit and purl stitches!
