You’ve asked and we listened. Guided by Love is coming out of retirement! Guided by Love will be part of the new serialized e-book, Nourishing Knits where it will be paired with a recipe for Bow Wow Biscotti for your favorite four-legged friend. The pattern is also available individually, without the recipe.

Guided by Love is part of the first installment of Nourishing Knits released November 29th, 2010. You can save on the e-book by subscribing before the final installment on March 15, 2011.

This special sock pattern was designed as a charitable pattern and released in June 2008. Inspired by my mother’s experience through the years with two Seeing Eye™ dogs, this sock pattern celebrates the independence and freedom assistive animals bring to their owners’ lives. 100% of the profits (after PayPal and bandwidth fees) were donated to an organization furthering independence for the visually impaired. Over $1400 was raised and donated to Seeing Eye in
Morristown, NJ. And then the pattern was retired in December 2008.

Use the Bordhi Sidestream construction to create lace paw prints (designed by Kristi) traveling across the instep and along the outside edge of the leg. The trail leads to the phrase “Guided By Love” in braille around the cuff with a decorative beaded heart on the outsides of the legs.

This toe-up on two circular needles pattern has four sizes with
finished ankle circumferences of 7 (7.5, 8, 8.5) inches covering US Woman’s shoe sizes of 3-10 with a recommended minimum of 10% negative ease. Tips are included for knitting the pattern on 5 DPNs and for adjusting foot length. Features include a whirlpool toe, an eye of partridge heel flap and gusset, and a sewn cast off to maintain a stretchy cuff.

This pattern is recommended for those already experienced in
knitting in the round and familiar with knitting lace, increases,
decreases and short rows. Stitch pattern and bead placement is now in both written and charted formats.

The latest version is version 2.0.
