This is a pattern for a pair of fingerless mitts. They measure approximately 4- 5 inches from your thumb up your arm. They feature both a lace stitch pattern on your forearm, with a ribbing center on the underside for both shaping and a lack of slippage when worn. The focal stitch is both charted and written out ‘line by line“. The mitts also have a thumb gusset that will insure the best fit, and allow you to text, type and knit in style and warmth at the same time. One size fits most, as a result of the lateral give, but there are tips for changing the size within each pattern. These mitts are made using two circular needles, and two strands of lace weight yarn, one a very light fingering yarn and one a lace weight yarn.

They require under 1 skein of both yarns used. The one pictured here was made with under one skein of Handmaiden’s Prosecco yarn, in colorway, Covered Bridge with one strand of carry lace weight yarn that’s comprised of mohair and silk, such as Kid Silk Haze or Knit Pick’s Aloft.

These mitts fit most women, but adjusting the needle size can make them slightly smaller or larger, suggestions contained within the pattern.

Skill Level: Beginner + - Intermediate (assuming a basic knowledge of knitting and some experience with lace knitting.)

The mitts were expertly pattern tested by ljs46
