This pattern is 9 pages long and includes the instructions for the guinea pig as well as the house, a water bottle, a carrot and a lettuce leaf. It contains loads of photos to help you every step of the way. It is written in American crochet terms.

You will need:

Yarn of your choice in two colours for the body of your Guinea Pig, and pink for the feet. Yarn weight doesn’t really matter - the size of your guinea pig will simply turn out bigger or smaller! (To give you some idea, I used chunky yarn & a 5mm hook and the guinea pig was 13.5cm long, or with super chunky yarn and a 6mm hook it came out at 19cm long.)

The same weight yarn in blue, grey, green & orange and in your choice of colour for the house.

A suitable size hook for the yarn you have chosen.

Toy stuffing.

Pale pink finer yarn or embroidery thread for embroidering the facial details.

A pair of black safety eyes (I used either 6mm or 9mm eyes).

Invisible nylon thread (this is optional if you wish to add whiskers).

Other tools you will need are a tapestry needle, some scissors, pins and a stitch marker.

If you wish to make your guinea pig fluffier, then you can brush it with a pet slicker brush.
