Guinevere Women's Pullover
This pullover was inspired by medieval fantasy movies and I used a woman warrior as my muse. A new technique of interweaving slip stitch and knit-purl stitch patterns creates an intricate brocade fabric with little difficulty as it is worked with 1 colour at a time.
The pullover is knitted in the round from the bottom up. Body and sleeves are worked as separate tubes from the lower edge to the armholes. Then the pieces are joined and knitted in a tapered tube. This makes reading the charts and working the slip stitches easy, and there is only a small seam under the armhole to sew up after the knitting is complete. Waist, crew neck and sleeve shaping are added for a tailored fit. Together with the raglan sleeves this gives the pullover good structure and stability to make it always hang straight.
For your convenience, there are separate instructions in an attractive layout for each size (36, 38, 40, 42, and 44). You may find my full descriptions easier to follow than the standard brief and cryptic ones.
The light knitted fabric in fingering weight wool will keep you comfortably warm. For women who desire elegance in daily life.
