I had always loved to learn to play the guitar. Finally the music from my favorite TV series “Justified” has tickled me to really do it.
So after studying learner guitar comments I bought a country guitar from thomann.de and a poster showing the chord strings and a guitar school book.

And then I thought: why not put the chord strings and the guitar on a beanie? So if you are outside and like to remember a chord string you just have to look at your hat.

It was hard work to figure out how to do the charting for the chord strings but I finally found a solution.

There are 25 different chord string charts on this beanie!

And this is the result. :)

The dark colors for my beanie are intended as my guitar is a dark red one. You can choose lighter colors then the contrast will be better, making the guitar more clearly visible. Some of my testknitters have done that so you can see when they add their projects how it will look like in lighter colors.

The beanie has a typical multicolor corrugated ribbing, followed by a tiny border pattern (peerie) that can be found on some guitars. Not on mine.
After that come the chord strings, then the guitar, again the little peerie pattern, some notes and seven tiny guitars at the top.

I knitted it in 4-ply sock yarns but you can also use Acrylic or Merino yarn of similar weight or a bit thicker.

For bigger sizes go up a needle size and/or use 5-ply yarn.

Please note: there are at most two colors in one round. So it is easier to knit than you may think first.

Ich wollte eigentlich schon immer Gitarre lernen. Die Musik von meiner Lieblingsserie “Justified” hat mich nun endgültig dazu gebracht Anfänger-Western-Gitarrenkommentare zu studieren und mir schließlich bei www.thomann.de eine Gitarre, ein Gitarrenbuch und ein Akkordeposter zu kaufen.

Und dann hatte ich die Idee, ein Akkorde-“poster” für den Kopf zu stricken.
Es war nicht leicht.
Aber ich hab’s hingekriegt.
25 unterschiedliche Akkorde hab ich draufbekommen.

Die Mütze hat einen mehrfarbigen Bund. Dann kommt ein Bordürenmuster, dass ich schon auf vielen Gitarren gesehen habe. Auf meiner ist es nicht.
Dann folgt die Gitarrenchart (auf meiner Mütze sehr dunkel gehalten, weil meine Gitarre auch so aussieht - aber meine Teststrickerinnen haben sie auch schon in helleren Farben gestrickt, dort seht die Gitarre noch deutlicher), Noten und obendrauf 7 kleine Gitarren als Abschluß.
Der Sohn einer Teststrickerin fand die Mütze “cool” :)

Sie ist wie immer in 4-fach Sockenwolle gestrickt. Ihr könnt aber auch Acrylgarn oder Merinogarn ähnlicher Stärke verwenden.
Für größere Köpfe nehmt bitte eine Nadelstärke größer und/oder 5-fach Garn (z.B. Buttinette Madeleine Merino).

Die Mütze hat maximal 2 Farben in jeder Runde und ist damit einfacher zu stricken als sie aussieht.
