Gum Nut Cardigan
The Gum Nut Cardigan will become a favourite in your wardrobe. The cardigan is worked flat, top with a round yoke construction featuring the simple colour work created with slipped stitches. For the colour work the contrast colour yarn is added to the main colour resulting in an interesting and marled effect.
For the ’gum nuts’ to show, it is recommended to choose a high contrast coloured yarn. The button- and buttonhole bands worked at the same time as the body.
For size 5 (6) 7 (8) 9 only, raglan increases lead into the splitting for sleeves and body, and for all sizes more stitches are allocated to the front than to the back. This is done to improve fit, and to reduce flaring fabric across the back.
Sleeves are worked top down in the round from live stitches on hold and the length can easily be adjusted to suit your preferences.
