my friend Jose wanted a scarf that had the logo from Gurren Lagann on it- an anime that he enjoys. I searched and couldn’t find the pattern for this anywhere. So I said “To hell with it- I will make my own damn pattern!”

I had dabbled in color blocking before when working on a hat for another friend who Christmas. I figured it would be simpler now that I knew what I was doing and had the basic hang of things. I was right.

Even so, mistakes were made. I should have used a different background color other than white- you can see where I carried the yarn over. A medium shade of gray would have likely worked better. But even so, I’m proud because my color blocking attempt actually looks like the logo from the television show! How excited I was when, after a few hours of painstakingly knitting and following a self made pattern, that the image actually looked- more or less- how I had hoped that it would!

Also I’ve never written a pattern before. This is the first time I’ve actually made a pattern o.o So…. Be gentle.
