Gussetry
by Jennigma
Gussetry came about because I wanted comfortable fingerless mitts to keep my hands warm while working in my drafty office. It is designed to fit the hand snugly but comfortably, nipping in at the wrist to provide some support then widening back out to keep from binding on the forearm. The main pattern stitch is garter rib, which is stretchy but more interesting than plain ribbing. The most unique detail in the pattern is the gusset between the thumb and forefingers. This allows the mitt to follow the contour of the hand more naturally, without gapping or having too much bulk.
