Gypsy Dance
When I was younger, my teen years, I was in a 4-H Fashion Revenue. Any 4-Her could attend. I had made a dress and went. In the line behind me, was this young lady with a gypsy skirt, it had 17 yards of material. I remember watching her swirling in front of the crowd, mostly parents, thinking what a wonder that skirt was and the dance she was performing. It looked like a flower dancing and swirling in the wind. It was just beautiful to watch. This dress reminds me of that skirt, although it doesn’t have 17 yards of material and of course the doll can’t swirl the skirt over her head, but it just reminds me of the beauty with in a dance.
This dress is very form fitting, a child could have trouble getting the dress upon her doll. So if a child is playing with this, you may want to go up a hook size, or if your stitches are really tight, you may also want to take it up a hook size. You can see by the photo’s that it really hugs the doll’s figure. The shawl is optional.
You’ll need 2 colors for the dress and a G hook.
