Gypsy Waterfall Jacket
This sideways knitted jacket is easy and may be knitted in many sizes. It is pictured with the Gypsy Lace Skirt which appears in a separate pattern.
Jacket is presented in 3 gauges aimed at standard, mid-gauge and bulky machines using fingering, sport and worsted weight yarn to get gauges of 7 stitches/10 rows, 5.5 stitches/8 rows, and 4 stitches/6 rows/inch. Row gauge is more critical to fit than stitch gauge but is easily adjusted if you cannot match perfectly. Circumference at the hem is 38, 42, 46, 50, 54, 58, 62. This is the narrow edge of the shape below. Because sideways knits drape differently from vertical knits, it is suggested that you size up rather than down when in doubt. All sizes about 25” after hemming but may hang longer in wear due to the characteristics of sideways knitting. Of course, you may shorten the design by using fewer needles. The ruffle yarn used is Red Heart Sashay. Lace is hung at the beginning and ending of the knitting so that it is attached to the center front.
