The Ha’Penny Bridge is one of Dublin’s most famous bridges. It is a small white-iron bridge for pedestrians only, which straddles the Liffey, a river that runs through Dublin from side to side. History tells us that people crossing the bridge had to pay a tax of half a penny, hence the nickname of the bridge, Ha’Penny Bridge.
The construction of the shawl in two halves and its two colours, the white of the bridge and the grey of the Irish sky remind me of this beautiful bridge so much used.

El puente Ha’penny es uno de los más famosos puntos turísticos de Dublín. Este paso peatonal de de hierro blanco es probablemente el más conocido de los 23 puentes que cruzan el Liffey, el río que parte Dublín de lado a lado. El vox populi local cuenta que debe su extraño nombre al peaje de medio penique (half a penny) que habían de pagar antaño quienes querían cruzarlo.

El diseño en dos mitades diferentes de este Chal, así como la combinación del azul del río Liffey con el gris plomizo, típico del cielo dublinense, me transportan a este popular y hermoso puente.
